Perawatan Kacamata

Kacamata yang kotor, tergores atau bengkok tidak akan memberikan penglihatan terbaik dan mungkin dapat menimbulkan masalah. Apakah ada cara terbaik untuk merawat kacamata? Tips sederhana ini mungkin dapat membantu.
1. Selalu bersihkan lensa Anda dengan cairan, jangan sekali – kali membersihkan lensa dalam keadaan kering. Gunakan Lens cleaner atau sabun dan air. Jangan gunakan nafas Anda, hal tersebut tidak dapat membasahi lensa.
2. Selalu gunakan kain lembut untuk membersihkan kacamata. Jangan gunakan produk kertas dan jangan menggunakan baju Anda.
3. Jauhkan lensa Anda dari bahan kimia atau panas (misalnya di sauna atau di dashboard mobil Anda )
4. Bila Anda tidak sedang memakai kacamata, simpanlah dalam tempatnya.
5. Mengenakan kacamata dan melepas kacamata dengan benar. Gunakan kedua tangan untuk memegang pada gagang dan lepas kacamata dengan hati-hati dari telinga Anda. Meskipun demikian, Anda harus menyetel kacamata Anda secara berkala ke Optik.
6. Jika Anda masih mengalami masalah seperti penglihatan yang kabur dengan menggunakan kacamata Anda, Anda mungkin harus mengubah ukuran kacamata Anda atau perawatan kesehatan oleh Ahli kacamata.

Tips Membeli Kacamata

1. Bagaimana cara membaca resep?

Resep kacamata memiliki format yang selalu sama di setiap resepnya. Baris pertama selalu resep untuk mata kanan, kadang-kadang ditulis "OD". Baris kedua untuk mata kiri, yang kadang-kadang ditulis "OS". Resep kacamata untuk setiap mata dibagi atas nilai - nilai Spheris, Silinder, dan Axis. Sesuatu yang umum apabila di salah satu resep kacamata tidak ada nilai ukurannya, dalam hal ini Anda mungkin akan melihat huruf "PL" atau "Plano", atau mungkin saja ada nilai ukurannya untuk semua bagian. Kadang-kadang resep ditulis "Ou" yang berarti "kedua mata". Jika resep kacamata Anda untuk lensa bifocals atau trifocals, mungkin ada tambahan informasi resep yang ditulis misalnya "ADD + 2.50". Ini adalah informasi yang penting jika Anda ingin memesan lensa untuk membaca atau lensa progressive. Angka-angka yang dinyatakan dalam diopters memberitahukan ukuran lensa. Nilai dalam bentuk diopter adalah nilai yang metrik dan digunakan secara universal di seluruh dunia.

2. Bagaimana cara memilih bahan lensa?

Lensa plastik adalah bahan lensa yang terbaik untuk kebanyakan orang. Sedangkan lensa dengan bahan Polycarbonate  yang sangat kuat dan tahan bentur, sangat dianjurkan untuk anak-anak dan orang dewasa yang beraktifitas aktif. Secara umum, jika resep kacamata Anda ukuran  spherisnya  + / -2.25 atau lebih rendah, Anda tidak akan mendapatkan keuntungan dari lensa berjenis "tipis". Lensa Plastik standar atau lensa Polycarbonate lebih cocok untuk Anda. Jika resep kacamata anda ukuran spherisnya lebih tinggi dari + / -2.25, Anda akan mendapatkan keuntungan dari pilihan jenis lensa yang "tipis".
Lensa tipis memiliki tiga keuntungan: tidak kelihatan "tebal", tidak membesarkan atau mengecilkan mata anda ketika dilihat oleh orang lain, dan lebih ringan. Secara umum, semakin tipis dan ringan lensa, harganya akan semakin mahal. "Nilai Indeks Tinggi" maksudnya adalah bahan lensanya yang "tipis" , sedangkan "Aspheric" maksudnya adalah desain lensanya yang "tipis". Lensa Polycarbonate dapat dibeli dengan desain "aspheric", dimana memberikan keunggulan kepada lensa polycarbonate menjadi lensa berdesain Aspheris yang tipis dan ringan. Tingkat ketipisan indeks lensa ditandai dengan "indeks bias" (IR). Indeks menengah biasanya sekitar 1.56, indeks tinggi adalah sekitar 1.60, dan indeks ultra-tinggi lensa adalah 1.67 dan 1.74. Setelah Anda memilih bahan lensa terbaik sesuai kebutuhan Anda, Anda dapat memilih fitur – fitur lainnya antara lain, seperti photochromic, lapisan tahan gores, lapisan anti pantul dan lapisan perlindungan UV (lapisan dengan perlindungan UV selalu ada dalam lensa dengan indeks tinggi dan lensa polycarbonate). Jika Anda ingin kacamata hitam, ada tambahan pilihan seperti pilihan warna, photopolarize,polarized, dan mirror coatings.

3. Bagaimana memilih warna yang cocok?

Coklat dan abu-abu adalah warna yang paling populer untuk lensa sunglass. Warna coklat adalah pilihan warna terbaik karena memungkinkan pemakai mendapatkan spektrum cahaya yang paling luas ke  mata, dan juga memblok blue light sehingga memberikan kontras yang optimal. Warna coklat juga sangat baik digunakan untuk olahraga diluar seperti tenis, golf, ski atau olahraga lainnya yang memerlukan persepsi penglihatan akut dan differensiasi kontras. Coklat juga terbaik untuk kondisi cahaya rendah, seperti memancing di sore hari atau pagi hari.
Warna abu-abu terbaik untuk keadaan cahaya yang terang seperti olahraga air karena warna abu – abu menolak silau dari sinar matahari. Warna lainnya seperti warna hijau dan biru lebih banyak digunakan untuk keperluan fashion daripada fungsinya. Biru adalah warna terburuk dari semua pilihan warna karena meningkatkan blue light dimana hal ini membuat penglihatan menjadi lebih silau. Jika Anda ingin biru sebagai pilihan fashion, pertimbangkan membuat lensa berwarna coklat tetapi dengan blue mirror coating. Warna kuning biasanya digunakan untuk mempertinggi kontras tanpa memblokir terlalu banyak cahaya, dan umumnya digunakan untuk olahraga menembak dan ski pada saat cuaca berawan.

4. Bagaimana cara membandingkan harga?

Memilih merek lensa adalah keputusan pribadi anda, yang pada umumnya berdasarkan antara kualitas dan harga. Seperti di daerah lain, lebih baik mereknya, lebih mahal harganya. Sama seperti lensa, lensa yang harganya lebih mahal biasanya kualitasnya lebih baik, atau lensa progressive yang  desainya lebih lapang dan nyaman biasanya lebih mahal. Namun dalam beberapa kasus, mungkin sulit atau mustahil bagi konsumen untuk melihat perbedaan antara kualitas lensa yang baik dan kualitas lensa yang rendah. Biasanya lapisan anti pantul dan lapisan tahan gores yang berstandar internasional dan berasal dari luar negeri kualitasnya lebih baik dibandingkan dengan lapisan yang dikeluarkan oleh Laboratorium independen lokal.
Sangat penting untuk membandingkan harga secara "apples to apples". Diantara dua optik yang berbeda, anda akan mendapatkan harga lensa Polycarbonate yang berbeda pula karena pabriknya beda, desainya beda atau misalnya 1 merk sudah termasuk coating, satunya tidak termasuk. Sebelum anda mulai berbelanja untuk kacamata, buatlah checklist pertanyaan untuk pelayan toko. Berikut ini daftar semua item yang dapat menyebabkan perbedaan harga: Tipe lensa (satu focal, multifocal), Bahan lensa (plastik, polycarbonate,kaca, triveks dll), Lapisan Lensa (lapisan tahan gores dan anti pantul, ketipisan lensa dll), dan Produsen dari merk lensa yang ditawarkan.

Lapisan Lensa

Lapisan lensa dapat meningkatkan kinerja dan tampilan lensa. Jika Anda mempertimbangkan lapisan lensa untuk  kacamata anda, inilah yang harus Anda ketahui.

1. Lapisan Tahan Gores

Perhatikan istilah "Tahan", tidak ada lapisan anti gores. Maksudnya, adalah lapisan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan lensa tahan terhadap goresan.

2. Lapisan Anti Pantul (AR)

Lapisan Anti-Pantul (AR) dapat mengurangi refleksi di dalam lensa, meningkatkan warna, kejernihan dan transmisi cahaya yang masuk melewati mata. Lensa tanpa lapisan AR akan kehilangan cahaya 8% sampai 18%, dan detail  kemurnian cahaya, karena refleksi ini tergantung pada indeks bias dari bahan lensa. Semakin tinggi indeks, semakin tinggi refleksi! Mintalah demonstrasi antara lensa dengan AR dan non AR "Lihat" perbedaannya! Lapisan AR saat ini telah mengalami perbaikan yang signifikan dibandingkan beberapa tahun yang lalu. Berbagai lapisan telah ditambahkan, termasuk yang terbaru, lapisan tahan gores yang lebih kuat, lapisan utama dan lapisan hydrophobic  seperti  Crizal produk lapisan yang baik dan menjadi yang terbaik di pasaran. Perangkat demonstrasi harus ditunjukkan sebagai contoh untuk benar-benar dapat menunjukkan perbedaan kualitas lapisan  AR seperti Crizaldibandingkan dengan lapisan anti pantul standart  

3.Lapisan Flash dan Mirror

Lapisan mirror tersedia dalam dua macam, sebagai Flash mirror dan sebagai Pure mirror. Dengan pure mirror, orang lain tidak akan dapat melihat mata Anda; dengan lapisan flash mirror, orang lain akan dapat melihat mata Anda. Pure mirror lebih intens efek cerminnya dan Flash mirror efek  cerminnya kurang intens. Dalam kedua jenis mirror, pemakai tidak akan merasakan efek mirror, efek mirror hanya terlihat oleh orang lain. Misalnya, jika memiliki lensa warna coklat dengan warna lapisan  Flash mirror biru, pemakai  akan melihat hanya warna coklat, dan orang lain akan melihat si pemakai hanya biru Flash mirror. Hal ini merupakan solusi kombinasi yang baik, karena warna biru adalah warna yang terburuk untuk melihat objek dengan jelas (coklat yang terbaik), tetapi di satu sisi warna biru fashionable; sehingga pemakai mendapatkan manfaat dari melihat melalui warna coklat serta memiliki keuntungan lainnya yaitu orang lain melihat si pemakai lensanya biru flash mirror.

1. Desain Wavefront dan Proses Gosok Freeform

Wavefront dan Freeform adalah teknologi terbaik saat ini untuk menciptakan lensa yang memberikan  pasien penglihatan sangat tajam dan jenih.  Pemakai akan mendapatkan penglihatan yang tajam, meningkatkan ketajaman kontras, meningkatkan penglihatan berkendara di malam hari, dan menikmati intensitas warna  yang lebih kaya.
Wavefront teknologi digunakan untuk menganalisis perjalanan cahaya menuju ke mata. Pemetaan wavefront membantu praktisi mendeteksi  aberrations yang tidak terlihat dalam tes lensa konvensional , yang berdampak pada kualitas penglihatan pasien. Banyak lensa korektif menimbulkan distorsi ketika cahaya melalui lensa yang akhirnya mengurangi ketajaman visual. Lensa progresif, khususnya, karena sifat desain mereka yang terdapat distorsi,mengakibatkan perubahan gelombang cahaya. Baru-baru ini, wavefront teknologi ini telah digunakan dalam desain lensa baru dan di proses untuk memperbaiki desain lensa progresif sehingga dapat meminimalisasi aberrations dan meningkatkan kinerja visual.
Inovasi lensa besar lainnya adalah proses gosok Freeform.  Menggunakan teknik freeform, sebuah laboratorium optik dapat memotong kompleks Curves ke bagian belakang  dan  atau depan permukaan lensa kosong menjadi ukuran resep lensa yang optimal. Mesin Freeform dapat menghasilkan Curves lebih kecil dari  0.01D, dan lensa yang keluar dari generator siap di Polish. Dasar sistem mesin Freeform terdiri dari CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) generator,  soft pad penggosok lensa, dan "titik" file perangkat lunak yang menjalankan CNC generator. Proses gosok Freeform adalah proses gosok lensa yang lebih cepat dan lebih akurat sehingga tidak hanya memproduksi optik yang lebih presisi, tetapi juga mengurangi waktu pemprosesan dan membantu meningkatkan pengiriman.

2. Kaca

Bertahun - tahun kaca dianggap bahan lensa pilihan nomor satu. Dengan optik yang paling tepat dan konstan, kaca dianggap yang paling nyaman dan alami. Tapi Karena kaca tidak tahan terhadap benturan,  standar ANSI menyatakan bahwa semua lensa opthalmik kaca harus dites baik melaui panas atau kimia  untuk meningkatkan dampak benturan. Banyak dari lensa kaca warna tidak tersedia lagi atau hanya tersedia dengan harga yang sangat mahal. Beberapa warna dapat diperoleh dengan cara memberikan lapisan pada lensa, walaupun hasilnya masih diperdebatkan. Lensa kaca memiliki indeks 1,523 dimana hal tersebut standar untuk kaca lensa. Hi Indeks lensa Kaca tersedia indeks 1,60, 1,70 dan 1,80 dan 1,90. Karena spesifik gravity, berat Hi Indeks kaca meningkat sesuai indeksnya, namun pemilihan frame yang kecil dapat mengurangi berat lensa.
Manfaat dan fitur :
Kualitas optik yang sempurna dan tahan gores yang terbaik dari semua bahan. Ingat, tidak ada lensa "anti gores". Lensa kaca dengan lapisa anti pantul memberikan penglihatan terbaik.
Negatif :
Kaca adalah bahan terberat yang ada serta lensa "yang paling mudah pecah". Kaca juga dapat dengan mudah tergores dan melentik di lingkungan kerja yang berbeda. Proses pewarnaan di lensa kaca dibuat di dalam lensa, ini termasuk pembuatan lensa  photochromik kaca. Hal ini akan menyebabkan lensa minus menjadi gelap disekitar pinggir lensa sedangkan jika lensa plus menjadi gelap di tengah. Tidak ada perlindungan UV di lensa kaca bening .

3. Plastik

Pilihan bahan lensa nomor satu di pasaran optik masa kini. Lensa plastik memiliki optik yang sangat baik, abbe yang besar, ringan, dan kemudahan proses warna serta tahan bentur menjadikannya pilihan yang paling umum di antara Optician. Peningkatan kualitas lapisan tahan gores telah membantu meningkatkan penjualan sehingga sering dianjurkan. Regular lensa plastik memiliki indeks pembiasan dari 1.498. Hi Indeks plastik mulai dari indeks dari 1.54, hingga yang baru 1.74. Tidak seperti kaca, yang akan menjadi lebih berat karena indeks lebih tinggi, lensa plastik Hi Indeks umumnya lebih ringan beratnya daripada lensa plastik biasa. TIPS: Kami sarankan lapisan AR baik itu kaca atau  plastik untuk  lensa Hi Indeks karena semakin tinggi index berarti semakin rendah nilai abbe. Hi Indeks memilki  4 tingkat terpisah, Mid Indeks 1,54 menjadi sekitar 1,58 (25% lebih tipis dari bahan standart lensa), Hi Indeks 1,60 (30% lebih tipis dari bahan standart lensa), Hyper Indeks 1,67 (40% lebih tipis dari bahan standart lensa), dan baru Hyper Indeks 1,74 (50% lebih tipis dari bahan standart len).
Manfaat dan fitur :
Berat lensa plastik kira-kira satu setengah kali lebih ringan dibandingkan dengan lensa kaca. Plastik lebih mudah diwarna dibanding bahan lainnya, dapat tambahkan untuk perlindungan UV.
Negatif :
Tebal lensa plastik sekitar 30% lebih tebal dari lensa kaca untuk indeks 1.53, dan lensa plastik di haruskan menggunakan lapisan tahan gores dan juga lapisan perlindungan UV (dimana hal ini membuat lensa menjadi lebih mahal)

4. Polycarbonates

Lensa yang paling tahan bentur dari semua bahan yang digunakan saat ini, telah menjadi pilihan terbaik untuk anak-anak dan pemakai kacamata yang aktif diluar ruangan. Polycarbonate memiliki keuntungan memiliki perlindungan UV, 380 nm untuk melindungi UVA dan UVB. Dibuat dengan indeks yang lebih tinggi, memiliki berat jenis yang rendah sehingga menjadi lensa yang paling ringan di banding  dari lensa lainnya.
Asosiasi Optikal Laboratorium di Amerika Serikat memiliki program yang disebut "Duty to warn" untuk membantu mendidik pasien keunggulan dan fitur lensa polycarbonate. Posisi fitting yang benar (4-5mm di bawah pupil) pada lensa 1 focus, pilihan frame yang benar  (Tidak lebih dari 5mm dari decentration per mata, kurang lebih baik) akan membantu mengurangi ketidaknyamanan. Kami merekomendasikan penambahan multi-lapisan AR Coatings untuk membantu memberikan peglihatan yang terbaik untuk pasien.
Manfaat dan fitur:
Lensa teraman, teringan  dan salah satu dari bahan lensa tertipis yang tersedia. Telah tersedia dalam desain aspheric yang bermanfaat melebarkan daerah penglihatan.
Negatif:
Tidak semua lensa Polycarbonate dapat diwarna gelap seperti lensa plastik. Polycarbonate memiliki nilai abbe yang rendah, yang dapat menimbulkan aberasi pada ukuran minus & plus tinggi. Proses fitting ( pemasangan lensa) yang tepat dan desain Aspheric dapat mengkoreksi hal tersebut.

Tipe Lensa

Jenis lensa kacamata tersedia dalam beberapa bentuk, diantaranya Lensa 1 focus, Lensa 2 focus, Lensa 3 focus ( lensa Progressive ) , Lensa Progresif untuk keperluan khusus (hobby/ komputer), dan Lensa Khusus ( lensa untuk anti mata lelah)

1. Lensa 1 Focus

Lensa konvensional untuk myopia, hyperopia, dan Silindris hanya terdiri satu ukuran, dimana digunakan untuk koreksi jarak jauh saja atau jarak dekat khusus untuk  baca. Lensa 1 focus tersedia dalam desain spherical, aspherical, dobel aspherical, dan desain - desain lainnya, dimana masing-masing memberikan kenyamanan penglihatan yang berbeda – beda.

2. Lensa Bifocal

Pasien Presbyopia yang menggunakan kacamata baca khusus untuk membaca harus mengganti kacamata ketika ingin melihat jarak jauh. Untuk menghilangkan gangguan seperti itu, sebuah lensa yang dikenal sebagai lensa 2 focus, telah dibuat 1 bagian untuk jarak dekat dan 1 bagian untuk jarak jauh. Yang paling sering digunakan saat ini adalah desain lensa 2 focus yang memiliki porsi untuk jarak pendek di bagian bawah lensa.

3. Lensa Progressive

Lensa progresif didesain dengan ukuran yang berubah secara halus  mulai dari ukuran jauh ke ukuran dekat. Lensa progresif memberikan penglihatan untuk dekat, menengah, dan jauh dan membuat kacamata Anda lebih gaya karena lensa progresif tidak mempunyai garis pembatas, tidak seperti lensa 2 focus. Karena hal tersebut lensa progresif sering digunakan untuk presbiopia yang memiliki koreksi refraksi. 4. Lensa Progressive untuk Kebutuhan Khusus (hobby/ komputer)

Lensa ini memiliki perubahan ukuran yang bertahap: bagian atas lensa berfokusjarak menengah, seperti layar komputer dan seterusnya, sedangkan bagian bawah adalah untuk membaca, sehingga ketika membaca buku dan beraktifitas dekat menjadi lebih jernih. Lensa ini bisa menggantikan kacamata baca atau bisa menjadi kacamata tambahan bagi para pecinta hobi dan pengguna komputer yang lebih banyak beraktifitas menengah – baca dimana tidak nyaman dengan lensa progresif biasa.

5. Lensa Khusus ( lensa untuk mengurangi mata lelah )

Lensa Anti-mata lelah adalah lensa satu focus terkini yang dirancang untuk meringankan gejala-gejala mata lelah. Gejalanya adalah mata terasa panas dan kaku, sakit kepala, mata merah dan penglihatan mata kabur yang disebabkan kerja dalam waktu yang cukup lama di depan komputer atau membaca.
